The From Breath to Matter podcast is a dedicated space for talking about vocal practices and how they are inextricably linked to a deeper investigation of the materiality of breath itself. It is hosted by Mika Hayashi Ebbesen and Jule Flierl and contains interviews with Myriam van Imschoot + Federico Protto, Edka Jarzab, Zoë Knights, Emilia Kurylowicz + Karol Tymiński, Anna Nowicka, Siegmar Zacharias and the hosts themselves.

THE      FUTURE       OF       BREATHING

Theatre’s are closed, because sharing air for leisure has become a safety issue to the public. Some workers are nevertheless expected to remain in one room where the same air is circulating between different respiratory systems. The Corona Virus has unveiled the Classism around air purism and air pollution.
Did you know that for years there are companies, that sell jars filled with mountain air to inhabitants of polluted cities?
„The future of breathing 1 + 2“ is a dialogue between Jule Flierl and Werner Hirsch.
They currently imagine how to separate and ration air, in a future where air as a ressource is fully commodified.
They will have a premiere in December 2020 in Berlin with a piece that will either be called: „The hearing trombone“ or „The nose flute“ or „The ass fiddle“.
If you have any preference for one of the titles or a suggestion for another title, please comment below in the video.

BREATHING    LIVE    -    3    TEMPORATLITIES

S o m a t i c   L e c t u r e   a b o u t   B r e a t h i n g
At the end of April 2020 I went live on Instagram in the series
"sharing practices from quarantine to quarantine".
Was it live, hyper-live or live-archive?
The dissociation here is multilateral.
Social distancing of viewer and performer,
image and audio disjunction,
verbal utterance and inner monologue
place this moment in different time reels.

This VIDEO reflects my live disjunction.
